Volunteers at Mason Health are an integral part of our health care team. Volunteers extend care and compassion in serving the patients, the community, and the staff, thus enhancing our high quality of care.

The Volunteer Services Department is located in the lower level of Mason General Hospital and will share office space with the Human Resources Department. Details are also below in the Downloads section.

Other service areas include the Emergency Department. These volunteers were being recognized for the receipt of the Presidents Volunteer Service Award at the Mason Health annual Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon in April.

Reasons to Volunteer

At Mason Health, volunteers are welcomed as a significant part of the healthcare team, working with staff to provide quality healthcare and services.

There are many reasons to volunteer at Mason Health. Your reasons for volunteering are as individual as you are, but no matter what your reasons you can get a lot out of volunteering. You can learn about yourself, learn about others and meet a lot of interesting people by volunteering. You can help others as you help yourself.

Mason Health Volunteer Position Descriptions

Job Shadows

Job shadowing lets you "try before you buy." You can check out a career for a day to see if you're really interested. You might like the idea of a job, but not like the day-to-day rhythms and challenges of it. Liking a "typical day" on the job will mean greater success for you down the road. When you're on the job shadow, ask questions about what the person likes and dislikes about that job, what a good career path looks like, and what more you need to do to get your foot in the door.
