Dean Gushee

Dean Gushee, MD, is the Chief Medical Officer for the District. Dr. Gushee has been with the District for 26 years. He is a board certified, residency trained emergency physician who has a master's degree in oceanography from Oregon State University. He graduated with an M.D. from the University of Utah and completed residency in emergency medicine from UCSF (Fresno) and is a Fellow in the American College of Emergency Medicine. Dr. Gushee completed a teaching fellowship through the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. He was the emergency department medical director for the District from 1997 to 2015.
